ABSTRACT
A study was conducted to determine the prevalence of intestinal parasites in an apparently normal healthy population. It involved an extended period of six months, covering a population of 3094 examinees who presented at Jebel Ali Medical Fitness. Out of the total number examined [3094 persons], 181 cases gave a positive stool examination, giving a prevalence of 5.9% as shown in Table 1. A significant difference was observed between parasite infestation and age and occupation suggesting that hygienic condition and socio-economic standards are the main factors for parasitic dissemination
