ABSTRACT
Sodium methoxide was applied in studying various oxygenation patterns of flavonoids. The Na OMe spectra of different groups of flavones displayed definite and characteristic absorption profiles, which explicitly reflected specific hydroxylation patterns. Examination of the MeOH and NaOMe spectral data granted the potential use of this reagent to determine the possible oxygenation pattern on the flavonoid nucleus
