Nasal mucosa changes in wick deodorizers workers exposed to formaldhyde

ABSTRACT

This study was done to evaluate nasal mucosa changes due to long term exposure to formaldehyde, fiety wick deodorizer workers exposed to formaldehyde represent all workers in the section of wick deodorizer at air fresheners factory in kalyoubia Governorate; also fiety person never exposed to formaldehyde before were taken as a control group both groups were subjected to questionnaire including age, special habits, and detailed occupaticonal history. nasal examination by Rhinoscope and cytological examination of the Nasal swab. The results showed higher prevalence of Nasal rnucosa irritation in formaldehyde exposed workers and No different regarding smoking habit or duration of exposure
