ABSTRACT
This study has presented 26 non-palpable testes in 23 children. Diagnostic laparoscopy results have shown that eight cases had absent testes, four cases had atrophic testes, eight cases had truly intraabdominal testes and six cases had intracanalicular or pepping testes. One stage laparoscopic orchiopexy was attempted in 14 cases. In 12 cases of them [six cases intracanalicular and six cases intraabdominal], no division of the spermatic vessels was done. In the other two cases, Fowler-Stephens procedure was done. Laparoscopic orchiectomy was performed in the four cases with atrophic testes. The study concluded that laparoscopy is a reliable diagnostic tool for non-palpable testis and the procedure of one stage laparoscopic orchiopexy is safe and effective in treating such cases
