ABSTRACT
A number of risk factors and nutritional requirement of the elderly people are discussed. It is observed that there is unawareness of nutritive value of the diet that the subject consumed. The reason may be that there is no media which teach public, the importance of proper nutrition for optimal health. This is the reason that people after the age of 50 get different diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and Ischemic heart disease. A sample menu for the elderly person is suggested that may be easily digestible and provide the required amount of calories for the body
