Ascites: a clinical, biochemical and immunological study

ABSTRACT

Ninety cases presenting with ascites were studied. They included 40 bilharzial patients, 10 tuberculous, 10 post necrotic cirrhosis, 10 malignant, 10 renal and 10 cardiac ones. The etiological diagnosis was established after careful history, thorough clinical examination and specific laboratory investigations of the serum and ascitic fluid for each case
