ABSTRACT
140 cases of urinary tract infection due to E. coli were examined bacteriologically and their sensitivity to different antimicrobial drugs were tested. The resistant [R+] strains of E. coli were incriminated in 90% of the cases while only 10% of the cases were due to the sensitive [R-] strains of E. coli. Only 19 isolates were resistant to nitrofurantoin and 66 to co-trimoxazole
