O ruído em atividades de lazer para crianças e jovens / Noise in leisure activities for children and youngs

ABSTRACT

The aim of the present study was to measure the sound levels in thirteen leisure activities most frequently related to children and youngsters in the Säo Paulo contest. Eleven of these activities were offered in different public places and two were found in the users' own home. In relation to the eleven public activities the findings (average of minimum values and average of maximum values) varied from 77 to 87 dBA and for the jome activities varied from 70 to 77 dBA. The sound levels found are high taking into consideration an early exposure to noise in the case of children and youngsters and daily exposure for those who work in those public places
