Food and nutrition education at CFNI: purpose, relevance and future

ABSTRACT

CFNI-supported Food and Nutrition Education projects, programmes and activities in countries are carried out at both non-formal and formal levels, depending on who needs to be reached and with what specific interventions. At the non-formal level, their focus is consciousness-raising and motivation of groups, families and communities towards making positive changes in nutrition behaviour. At the formal level they are aimed at maximising the knowledge and skills of teachers and teacher-trainers, revising curricula to include food and nutrition content and developing appropriate learning activities and experiences for the classroom
