Da adivinhação à dedução: os processos inferenciais em psicoterapia cognitivo-comportamental / From guessing to deduction: the inferential processes in cognitive behavioral psychotherapy

RESUMO

Este artigo apresenta os principais resultados de uma pesquisa que objetivou verificar a validade e viabilidade de aplicar modelos lógico-pragmáticos da Lingüística Cognitiva ao entendimento dos processos inferenciais nos diálogos de díades paciente-psicoterapeuta em Terapia Cognitivo-Comportamental (TCC). Também objetivou investigar a existência de padrões inferenciais e comunicacionais de indivíduos com depressão. O método utilizado consistiu na aplicação do cálculo do Modelo Ampliado das Implicaturas a 6 blocos de 5 sessões psicoterápicas sucessivas de 6 díades terapêuticas distintas. Todos os pacientes apresentavam diagnósticos de Transtorno Depressivo Maior, confirmados pelos critérios da Breve Entrevista Internacional de Neuropsiquiatria Modificada. Fizeram-se análises estatísticas e análises qualitativas (análise de situação) dos dados. Os principais resultados indicaram a viabilidade e significância da utilização das teorias pragmáticas para o entendimento dos conteúdos implícitos na comunicação e que só podem ser acessados pela inferência das implicaturas conversacionais e convencionais. Também foram verificados padrões característicos da comunicação em amostra depressiva que se constituem, prioritariamente, no uso significativo de implicaturas conversacionais particularizadas pela quebra da máxima da quantidade por falta de informação.

ABSTRACT

This article presents the main results from an investigation that was aimed at verifying the validity and feasibility of applying Cognitive Linguistics’ logical-pragmatic models to understand the inferential processes in the pacient-psycotherapist dialogues in Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy (CBP). Furthermore, the present research investigated the existence of inferential and communicational patterns in depressive individuals. The method employed consisted in the application of Grice’s Amplified Implicature Model to six blocks of five consecutive psychotherapy sessions of 6 different therapeutic pairs. All the patients showed clinical pictures of Major Depression Disorder. Statistical and qualitative (analysis of the situation) analyses of the data were done. The main results indicated the viability and the significance of the employment of the pragmatic theories to understand the implicit contents in communication which may only be accessed by the inference of the conversational implicatures. The characteristic patterns of depressive communication were also verified which were primarily established in the frequent use of conversational implicatures characterized by the lack of information despite its quantity.
