Enfermedad de Behçet en la infancia: reporte de un caso / Behçet disease in childhood: a case report

ABSTRACT

Behçet’s Disease (BD) is a vasculitis of unknown etiology, mainly observed in young adult patients. Clinical manifestation includes aphthous stomatitis, genital ulcerations, uveitis and superficial thrombophlebitis. Juvenile BD is rare and only a small series of pediatric cases have been reported. 50 percent of the cases have an incomplete form. We present the case of an adolescent girl with an incomplete or partial BD. Our objective is to present the first step to help further future definitions of the epidemiology and clinical factors in Chilean children.
