O conhecimento do cirugião-dentista frente à responsabilidade civil da sua especialidade / The knowledge of the dental surgeon front to the civil responsibility of his specialty

RESUMO

Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o conhecimento de cirurgiões-dentistas (n=163) sobre a obrigação da sua especialidade frente à responsabilidade civil. Realizou-se a elaboração e a aplicação de um questionário semi-estruturado e, para análise das respostas, foi utilizado o programa Epi Info versão 6.04. Dentre os entrevistados, 60,4% dos entrevistados caracterizaram a sua especialidade como meio e resultado, e apenas 14,3% como obrigação de meio. Contudo, 20,7% não souberam responder. Diante disso, faz-se necessária à conscientização da classe odontológica de que a Odontologia é uma profissão que oferta saúde aos pacientes e não apenas procedimentos com finalidades estéticas e, portanto, a mesma deve ser caracterizada em todas as suas especialidades, a principio, como obrigação de meio, e não como de resultados.

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to evaluate the dental surgeons knowledge (n=163) about the obligation of their specialty in relation to the civil responsibility. The elaboration and the application of a semi-structured questionnaire were carried out and it was used the software Epi lnfo version 6.04 for the answers analysis. Among the interviewees, 60.4% of the interviewees characterized their specialty as half and result and only 14.3% as half obligation. However, 20.7% didn't know to answer. In this way, it is necessary the understanding of the dental professional class that the Dentistry is a profession that offers health to the patients, and not just procedures with aesthetic purposes, and therefore it should be characterized in all its specialties, at first, as half obligation, and not as result.
