Hipertensión arterial en pacientes con insuficiencia renal crónica en hemodiálisis / High Blood presure in patients with chronic renal failure in hemodialysis

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo de 150 pacientes con insuficiencia renal crónica, tratados en el Departamento de Hemodiálisis del Hospital General Docente Dr Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso de Santiago de Cuba desde enero hasta junio del 2006. De la población estudiada que recibía los beneficios de la depuración de la sangre 3 veces por semana, se escogió una muestra de 45 integrantes al azar, con edades entre 18 - 80 años y tratamiento completo en hemodiálisis por no menos de un trimestre. Se halló que la hipertensión arterial, predominantemente sistólica, se asociaba a mayor promedio de volumen ultrafiltrado, aumento de la edad y diabetes mellitus en los pacientes seleccionados.

ABSTRACT

A descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study of 150 patients with chronic renal failure, treated in the Hemodialysis Department of Dr Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso Teaching General Hospital in Santiago de Cuba was carried out from January to June, 2006. Of the studied population that received the benefits of the purification of the blood 3 times per week, a sample of 45 members was chosen at random, with ages between 18 - 80 years and complete treatment in hemodialysis during not less than a trimester. It was found that the high blood pressure, mainly systolic, was associated to a higher average of ultrafiltrated volume, to an increase with the age and diabetes mellitus in the selected patients.
