Caracterização do portador de HIV/AIDS acima de 50 anos / Characterization of the individual with HIV / AIDS over 50 years

RESUMO

O fenômeno do envelhecimento da população mundial é algo já conhecido.Esse número vem aumentando rapidamente, assim como vem aumentando o número deidosos com HIV/AIDS (Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana/Síndrome daImunodeficiência Adquirida), havendo necessidade de criarem-se políticas para atendera essa população. Este estudo foi realizado com pessoas com mais 50 anos, portadorasdo vírus no interior do Estado de São Paulo. O objetivo foi identificar o nível deconhecimento das mesmas em relação ao conceito, prevenção e tratamento doHIV/AIDS. No resultado, pôde-se observar que os entrevistados afirmaram que a formade contágio pelo vírus se deu através de relação sexual, mas, mesmo assim, 46 afirmam não utilizar o preservativo, contribuindo para o aumento da epidemia nos diasatuais e trazendo uma evolução desta doença futuramente.

ABSTRACT

The phenomenon of an aging world population is something alreadyknown. This number is increasing rapidly, and so is the number of older people withHIV / AIDS (Human Immunodeficiency Virus / Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome )and there is a need to create policies to serve this population. This study was conductedwith people over 50 years infected with the virus within the State of Sao Paulo. The goalwas to identify the level of knowledge regarding the same concept, prevention andtreatment of HIV / AIDS. As a result, we can observe that the respondents stated thatthe form of virus infection was through sexual intercourse, but even so, 46 report notusing condoms, contributing to the increase of the epidemic today and bringing anevolution of this disease in future.
