"Ellos" y "Nosotros": La (des)confianza de los jóvenes en Chile / "They" and "We": Chilean youngsters' (mis)trust / "Eles" e "Nós": a (des)confiança dos jovens no Chile

RESUMEN

Las respuestas obtenidas a través de preguntas realizadas a grupos de estudiantes de enseñanza secundaria (focus group) en las ciudades más grandes de Chile, sobre en quién y en qué instituciones confía, son unánimes sólo se confía en la familia, y respecto a las instituciones, no se confía en ellas. En la búsqueda de aquello que podría subyacer a las respuestas, encontré que la confianza opera como un sistema de inclusión/exclusión. La confianza en la familia es un nosotros incluyente que evidencia la existencia de un "ellos", afuera de los cuales hay que protegerse. Por el contrario, la desconfianza en las instituciones es un nosotros excluyente, que entrega beneficios para otros y somete a sus arbitrariedades. Excluidos del nosotros social, sólo queda ser unos "ellos" definidos por otros, sin vida propia.

ABSTRACT

The answers obtained through questions from groups of high school students (focus group) in the biggest Chilean cities, about what institutions and whom they trust in, are unanimous they only trust in their families; and with reference to institutions, they do not trust in them. When looking for something that could underlie the answers, I found that trusting functions like an inclusion/ exclusion system. Trusting in the family is an including we which evidences the existence of a "they", when being out of them, protection is required. On the contrary, mistrusting in institutions is an excluding we, which provides others with benefits and subdues to their arbitrariness. Excluded from the social we, then we have to be some "they" defined by others, without an own life.

RESUMO

As resposta obtidas através de perguntas realizadas a grupos de estudantes de ensino médio (focus group) nas maiores ciudades do Chile, sobre em quem e em que instituições confiam, são unânimes só se confía na familia, e com relação às instituições, não se confía nelas. Na busca daquilo que poderia estar subjacente às resposta, encontrei que a confiança opera como um sistema de inclusão/exclusão. A confiança na familia é um nós inclusivo que evidencia a existencia um "eles", contra os quais é preciso proteger-se. Ao contrario, a desconfiança nas instituições é um "nós" excludente, que entrega beneficios para outros e se submete às suas arbitrariedades. Excluídos do nós social, só resta ser uns "eles" definidos por outros, sem vida própria.
