Los derechos de los pacientes / The rights of patients

RESUMEN

El objetivo del presente artículo fue revisar la bibliografía nacional e internacional existente sobre los derechos de los pacientes que acuden a los servicios de salud, que participan de la docencia y en la investigación biomédica con la finalidad de sensibilizar a los profesionales de la salud y público en general sobre este tema. El artículo parte de señalar algunos casos de maltrato al paciente vividos por el autor, para luego hacer un resumen de los derechos que asisten a los pacientes en las diferentes áreas mencionadas y, finalmente, dar algunas recomendaciones para su cumplimiento en nuestro país.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this paper was to review existing the national and international literature on the rights of patients attending health services, involved in teaching and in biomedical research in order to raise awareness among health professionals and general public on this issue. The article started with some cases of patient abuse that the author experienced; then, to make a summary of the rights granted to patients in the different mentioned areas and, finally, give some recommendations for to be accomplished in our country.
