Os "avatares" do corpo rascunho: experiência de jovens universitários nas redes sociais / The avatars of the first-draft body: the experience of university students in social networks

RESUMO

Esse estudo possui como tema central a participação de jovens em redes sociais e as representações de corpo ali existentes. O objetivo do presente artigo é compreender o papel do corpo na construção identitária de jovens universitários inseridos em ambientes virtuais denominados de redes sociais. As informações coletadas foram tratadas por meio do programa SPSS 17.0 para Windows. Para dar suporte teórico à análise empreendida, utilizamos como interlocutores Bourdieu (2006), Castells (2002), Featherstone (1995), Hall (2006), Le Breton (2003; 2004; 2006), Lévy (1999), Daólio (1998), Betti (2008) e Feres Neto (2014). Os resultados apontam que os jovens investigados usam diversas ferramentas presentes nas redes sociais para representar o seu corpo. A representação proporcionada pelos sujeitos investigados tende para uma supervalorização dos atributos físicos, e os sujeitos exercem papéis sociais que sugerem um estilo de vida ativo.

ABSTRACT

The central theme of this study is the participation of young people in social networks and representations of the body found there. The object of this article is to understand the role of the body in the identity construction of university youth participating in virtual environments called social networks. The information collected here was processed using SPSS 17.0 for Windows. Providing technical support for our analysis, Bourdieu (2006), Castells (2002), Featherstone (1995), Hall (2006), Le Breton (2003; 2004; 2006), Lévy (1999), Daólio (1998), Betti (2008) e Feres Neto (2014) servedas interlocutors. The results show that the young people under study used a variety social network tools to represent their body. The representations furnished by the subjects tended to overemphasize physical attributes and the subjects play social roles that suggest an active lifestyle.
