Publicar bien o no publicar, esa es la cuestión / Publishing well or not publishing at all, that is the question

RESUMEN

El número de colaboraciones de autores cubanos ha tenido un aumento sostenido en la revista digital argentina Lecturas Educación Física y Deportes, en los últimos 5 años. Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar las cuestiones formales y técnicas que descalifican a los materiales publicados en la revista Lecturas Educación Física y Deportes como artículos científicos. Se revisaron las principales bases de datos de reconocimiento regional para conocer si alguna incluía en su indización a la revista en cuestión. Se constató que esta no tiene establecidos los criterios de forma y contenido para ser considerada como una publicación científica y ninguna de las bases de datos revisadas la incluye. Se concluyó que la opción de publicar bien, o sea, en revistas certificadas e indizadas, es por mucho, la única forma auténtica de ser citado, de obtener los méritos y el reconocimiento merecido tras el esfuerzo que implica la creación de un artículo científico.

ABSTRACT

The number of collaborations by Cuban authors with the Argentinean digital review called Lecturas Educacion Fisica y Deportes has steadily increased in the last five years. This article was aimed at analyzing the formal and technical questions that devalue the materials published in the above-mentioned journal as scientific articles. Well-known regional databases were reviewed to find out if some of them included this journal in their indexing, but this publication has not set the required criteria of format and contents to be considered as a scientific publication in addition that none of these databases covered it. The conclusion was that the option of publishing in certified and indexed journals is by far the only authentic way of being adequately quoted, of achieving due merits and acknowledge after the great efforts involved in the creation of a scientific article.
