Explorar la estructura de la sintomatología depresiva en mujeres postparto. Material y Métodos:
En 321 mujeres que acudieron a un hospital general con menos de 1 año postparto, se exploró, mediante correlaciones tetracóricas y regresiones logísticas, la vinculación entre diversos síntomas depresivos, y entre éstos y el diagnóstico de depresión mayor.Resultados:
Los síntomas que tuvieron mayor vinculación entre sí y también con el diagnóstico de depresión mayor fueron fatiga, tristeza, anhedonia, tendencias suicidas, hiporexia, dificultades de concentración, retardo psicomotor, sentimientos de culpa, agitación psicomotriz y pesadez de extremidades. Por otro lado, la hipersomnia y el apetito elevado no se relacionaron con el resto de sintomatología depresiva.Conclusiones:
Los resultados del estudio sugieren que, en esta muestra de mujeres postparto, la hipersomnia y la elevación del apetito no forman parte del síndrome depresivo; y que los síntomas centrales de la depresión son fatiga, tristeza y anhedonia, los cuales coinciden con los tres síntomas que la CIE-10 considera fundamentales para el diagnóstico de depresión...ABSTRACT
To explore the structure of the depressive symptomatology in postpartum women. Material and Methods:
Among 321 women with less than 1year postpartum assisting to a general hospital, links between diverse depressive symptoms and between them and major depression diagnosis were explored using tetrachoric correlations and logistic regressions.Results:
The symptoms most linked between them and with the diagnosis of major depression were fatigue, sadness, anhedonia, suicidal trends, low appetite, concentration problems, psychomotor retardation, guilt, psychomotor agitation and leaden paralysis. On the other hand, hypersomnia and increased appetite did not relate to the rest of the depressive symptoms.Conclusions:
The findings suggest that in this sample of postpartum women, hypersomnia and increased appetite are not part of depressive syndrome; and that the core symptoms of depression are fatigue, sadness and anhedonia, which coincide with the three major symptoms of depression according to the ICD-10...
