Selected notes from the VIII International Symposium on Infection and Allergy of the Nose (ISIAN) and International Rhynology Conference

RESUMO

The present paper is an arbitrary selection of interesting assumptions - mainly the practical ones - heard from the various speakers, both in plenary and free paper sessions, by occasion of the rhinologic meeting held in Baltimore (USA), last June, 1989. Selected parts of selected communications - 109 out of 247 registered in the "Book" of Abstracts" - were carefully arranged in order to provide a quick and useful panoramic view of rhinologu today, as far as it was represented in Baltimore. Despite the strong (but unavoidable) amputations of the original texts, all the quoted authors had their own words faithfully preserved. For didatic poses, the maters were distributed under four headings (I) nose and sinuses in normal and pathologic conditions; (II) diagnosis of nose and sinus disease; (III) surgery of nose and sinuses, (IV) nose and sinuses pharmacotherapy/immunotherapy
