Int their exposition the authors consider the following topics the definition and the history of the Panic Disorder; the usual biography of the patient; the epidemiology; the clasification of Anxiety Disorders; the possible causes of Panic Disorders; the diagnosis and Diferential Diagnosis; the history, critical analysis and perspectives of the treatment; the pharmacological treatment with TCA and IMAO; the strategy and the efficacy of the treatment with TCA. They conclude this exposition directing the General Practitioners' atendion to the following considerations The Panic Disorders is a very well delineated entity; the prevalence of this Disorder is higher than generally assumed in the general population; the patient who is suffering from the Disorder is more frequently seen by the General Practitioners or another specialist than by psychiatrists; these practitioners can become able to diagnose and to treat correctly this kind of pathology
