Diabetes mellitus has adverse effects on entire body. Hepatobiliary diseases can produce mucocutaneous lesions. It is important to be familiar with various bleeding disorders and baseline hematological investigations before embarking on dental surgeries. The laboratory investigations often provide the missing link between oral and systemic diseases.
