Artigo | IMSEAR | ID: sea-185088
ABSTRACT
Serum high density lipoproteins levels were estimated in type II diabetes mellitus patients with different systemic complications. Total 60 subjects (both male & female) of age group 35–60 years were selected for the study, of which 30 subjects were control (nondiabetic). Fasting high density lipoproteins levels were determined by cholesterol esterasecholesterol oxidaseperoxidase method . Proportion of different complications was also determined. It was found that average serum values of high density lipoproteins in type II diabetes mellitus patients was significantly decreased as compared to control group. Majority of systemic complications were cardiovascular in which hypertension was commonest. The study indicated a positive correlation between serum high density lipoproteins levels and cardiovascular risk in type II diabetic patients.
