ABSTRACT
Hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (H I R I) is the major reason of liver dysfunction and even failure after liver resection and transplantation, which can seriously affect the postoperative recovery of patients. In recent years, according to the further research on the mechanism of hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury, a number of HIRI treatments have been proposed, such as drug preconditioning, ischemic preconditioning and remote ischemic preconditioning. Among these methods, drug preconditioning has already attracted extensive clinical attention. The intervention mechanism of HIRI preconditioning is to prevent the main pathophysiological responses that occur in HIRI, such as calcium overload, reactive oxygen species production, aseptic inflammation response and cell apoptosis and autophagy. Currently, a variety of drugs, such as mitochondrial protector, ROS scavenger, anti-inflammatory drugs have been proved to alleviate HIRI via the above mechanisms, and these studies are reviewed in this article.
