ABSTRACT
We studied the effect of MS-15, a new ophthalmic non steroidal antiinflammatory agent (Indomethacin), on reducing pupillary constriction during cataract surgery. Prior to surgery 0.5% of ibuprofen lysinate or a placebo was instilled 7 times and the surgeon's normal regimen of mydriatics and cycloplegics was used. MS(R) 15(0.5% ibuprofen lysinate) was far more effective than the placebo in maintaining dilated pupil during the cataract surgery. The change of the pupillary diameter from the conjunctival incision to after lens cortex aspiration averaged 0.42mm in MS-15 treatment group and 0.98 mm in placebo group. The difference between two groups was statistically significant(0.001
