Achievement of profession of hematology and blood transfusion in the 20th century

ABSTRACT

In the 20th century, the profession of hematology and blood transfusion obtained many major achievements. This paper introduced 3 achievements of the profession including researches on the hematopoietic stem cells, marrow transplantation and blood transfusion blood preservation, finding of the leukocyte and thrombocyte antigens, separation of blood components and total blood transfusion, blood transfusion safety, and management of accidents due to blood transfusion
