ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate p53 protein expression in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and its correlation with biological behavior, p53 gene mutation and EBV infection in 43 cases of NPC. Methods Immunohistochemical staining was applied to detect p53 protein,PCR-SSCP was used to detect p53 gene mutation, and EBV infection was determined with PCR. Results The positive rate of p53 protein expression was 76 7%(33/43)in the NPC.
