ABSTRACT
Influenced and Shaped by Confucian ethics as well as the philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine, the traditional Chinese physician-patient ethics thought has evolved its specific characteristics, including the physician′s attitude towards patients which prefers to treat patients as one′s own families and consider the case in patients′ shoes, the treating manner which emphasizes impartiality and politeness among all patients, the profit principle which values justice above material gains, the self-discipline consciousness of being decent and fair, and meanwhile emphasizing patients′ share of responsibility in the disease treating process. All those are precious treasures in the traditional Chinese physician-patient ethics thought, and worth further exploration.
