ABSTRACT

The relationship between glucocorticoids and cleft palate has been constantly highlighted in researches on oral clefts etiology.Recently, some studies have been conducted to further investigate the mechanism of cleft palate induced by excessive glucocor -ticoids.In this review, the epidemiological study on the role of glucocorticoids in cleft palate and mechanism of excessive glucocorti -coids-induced cleft palate were provided to elucidate the role of glucocorticoids in palatal development .
