ABSTRACT
In order to avoid persistent disease activity, relapse and unnecessary treatment escalation, patients with systemic lupus erythematosis (SLE) need long-term adherence to prescribed medication. However,in the clinical practice,a considerable number of SLE patients have poor medication adherence, which may be related to disease cognition, medication types, economical status, education level and depressive state. This review summarizes several related factors affecting medication adherence in SLE patients to provide reference for clinicians.
