Clinical recommendation for botulinum toxin type A injection in facial aesthetics—an expert consensus from Chinese plastic surgeons and an evidence-based study / 中华整形外科杂志

ABSTRACT

Botulinum toxin type A, widely used in facial aesthetics for treating facial wrinkles and contouring in China, has shown sufficient clinical safety and efficacy supported by many studies. Based on a survey of clinical experiences collected from a group of plastic surgeons, we summarized the key opinions and evidences from these experts to develop an expert consensus on optimizing the clinical applications of botulinum toxin type A in facial aesthetics. Literature reviews were also conducted to provide relevant evidence-based recommendations for clinical practitioners.
