ABSTRACT
Objective:
To evaluate the relationship between the polymorphism of CYP1A1 gene and the genetic susceptibility to renal cancer.Methods:
A case-control study was conducted in 175 renal cancer patients and 200 healthy control subjects to investigate the role of CYP1A1 gene A4889G(M2) and C4887A(M4) polymorphisms in renal cancer. PCR-RFLP was used to identify the genotypes of polymorphism.Results:
The frequencies of A4889G and C4887A genotypes were not significantly different between RCC cases and healthy controls. M2/M2 genotype was positively correlated with the incidence of renal cancer (OR=2.225 [95%CI=1.134-4.365, P=0.020]).Conclusion:
M2/M2 genotype of CYP1A1 gene may be a risk factor for renal cancer.
