ABSTRACT

Objective To optimize the extraction process of total flavonoids of Abelmoschus manihot. Methods The extraction process was optimized by orthogonal experiment with the content of total flavonoids of A. manihot as index, and ethanol concentration, the ratio of material to solvent, extraction temperature, and extraction time as factors. Results The optimal extraction technology was as follows the concentration of ethanol was 70%, the ratio of material to solvent was 1 50, and 90°C water bath for refluxing 0.5 h. Conclusion The extraction technology is simple, accurate, and available for the extraction of total flavonoids of A. manihot.
