ABSTRACT
Objective:
To separate and identify the chemical constituents from the whole plant of Euphorbia thymifolia.Methods:
The constituents were isolated and purified by various chromatographic methods and were identified on the basis of spectral analysis and physicochemical characters.Results:
Thirteen compounds were separated and identified as luteolin (1), apigenin (2), quercetin (3), kaempferol (4), ethyl galloyl acid (5), p-coumaric acid (6), protocatechuic acid (7), gallic acid (8), caffeic acid (9), 3, 4-seco-8βH-ferna-4 (23), 9 (11)-dien-3-oic acid (10), 3, 4-seco-oleana-4 (23), 18(19)-dien-3-oic acid (11), tricosanol (12), and β-sitosterol (13), respectively.Conclusion:
Addition to the compound 5, the other compounds are isolated from this plant for the first time.
