Analysis of anti-infection treatment for a case of prevotella loescheii infection / 中国药学杂志

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To explore the role of clinical pharmacists in drug therapy by assisting the clinician to diagnose and treat a case of disseminated prevotella loescheii infection. METHODS: Clinical pharmacists offered reasonable suggestions for antibiotics selection by analyzing the disease condition of the patient, asking about allergy history, looking up domestic and foreign literature and drug sensitivity test result. And the pharmacists also provided pharmaceutical care and discharging medication education to the patient. RESULTS: The treatment regimen suggested by the clinical pharmacists was adopted by the physicians, and the disease condition was relieved significantly after treatment. CONCLUSION: Clinical pharmacists can demonstrate their value by taking advantage of their pharmacy knowledge and assisting clinicians to develop safe and effective therapeutic regimens.
