ABSTRACT

To explore the effect of extended nursing based on Omaha system in patients with psoriasis.

Methods:

A total of 133 hospitalized patients with psoriasis from September to December 2018 were selected and divided into 66 patients in the intervention group and 67 patients in the control group according to random number table method. The control group was given routine nursing guidance and health education, and the intervention group adopted the Omaha system of continuing care program on this basis. The changes of skin disease quality of life, health cognitive behavior, Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) scores were compared between the two groups before and after nursing.

Results:

There was no significant difference in skin disease quality of life, health cognitive behavior, PASI before nursing between the two groups( P >0.05). The score of skin disease quality of life in the observation group was 6.29±2.09, significantly lower than that in the control group (9.41±3.17), and the difference was statistically significant ( t value was -9.661, P<0.05). The scores of knowledge, behavior and status of the observation group were 58.33±20.52, 41.39±14.26, 52.68±18.74,significantly higher than those of the control group(45.72±18.17, 38.64±15.37, 43.37±16.43), and the difference were statistically significant( t values were 9.744,6.138,5.751,all P <0.05). The PASI score of the intervention group was 2.05±0.94, lower than that of the control group (2.84±1.12), and the difference was statistically significant ( t value was 1.557, P <0.05).

Conclusions:

The application of Omaha system psoriasis continuous care program, significantly improves the health awareness of patients with psoriasis, changes bad health behavior, improves health status, promotes the disappearance of skin lesions, and improves their quality of life.
