Survey of blood levels of healthy Filipinos of all ages

ABSTRACT

A survey of 1662 subjects for blood sugar and 1695 subjects for non-protein nitrogen ranging in age from birth to 69 years is herein presented, using modified ultramicro methods. The Filipinos included in the study have a mean level of 91.0 mg glucose and 33.3 mg non-protein nitrogen per hundred milliliters of whole bloodThe amount of sugar in blood increases with age. However, the non-protein nitrogen values showed no appreciable variation from birth to adult age; nor was there any significant difference between the levels by sexPending completion of the studies on ethnic groups, no report can be made on their blood sugar and non-protein nitrogen.
