ABSTRACT

Information relations in agricultural sector of the Kyrgyz Republic (KR) needs further development based on the digitalization processes taking place in the society. Spread of COVID-19 pandemic introduced a number of economic adjustments to the country's digital interactions, which significantly influenced the development of information and consulting services in the industry. Cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic with the states of the Eurasian Economic Union presupposes close interaction on issues of regulation of the common agricultural market and development of international trade in the field of agriculture, which also affects digitalization of the country's economy. The paper presents the results of methodological study on development of information and consulting services in the agricultural sector, analysis of organizational structure of the country's agriculture according to categories of farms, and entities requiring these services have been determined. Recommendations are proposed for digitalization of the industry, taking into account development of information and consulting services, based on the current state of agricultural production, as son as the main consumers of information services turn to be peasant (farmer) households as the main producers of agricultural products. Building a system of information and consulting services will contribute to development of its own market for agricultural products, processing information from agricultural producers and consumers of agricultural products, creating profitable trade relations and marketing of agricultural products.

ABSTRACT

The coronavirus pandemic has caused a rather difficult period of adaptation of students to the university system and the new educational process. Digital technologies came to the rescue, which contributed to some solution of emerging adaptation issues for nonresident students. This article is aimed at identifying the features of social adaptation of nonresident students to the educational process at the university. As a research method, the questionnaire method was used, which allowed to identify and analyze the peculiarities of adaptation of first-year students from other cities to the university environment and university requirements. The article reveals the influence of digital technologies on the adaptation of students to the university environment and new living conditions. It was determined that, in general, the participants have a high level of adaptation to the university environment, even in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic. © 2021. ABSTRACT

Introduction: UBT is the most accurate non-invasive test for H.pylori infection. The orally given urea, labelled with C13, is hydrolysed by the enzyme urease of H.pylori and C13O2 is measured expired in breath. UBT was our gold standard diagnostic test for H.pylori. This practice changed abruptly in March 2020, when our first wave of coronavirus -2 (SARS-CoV-2) started. UBT carries the risk of contamination by SARS-CoV-2 in the aerosol droplets generated by exhaled air. The British Society of Gastroenterology guideline at that time graded UBT as Aerosol Generating Procedure and therefore at high risk for transmission. Only emergency gastroenterology high risk procedures were recommended during restrictions which effectively terminated our standard UBT service. To maintain a non-invasive diagnostic option we developed a novel virtual test. C13 UBT At Home, is performed by patients at home with step by step instructions involving live video conference interaction between the patients and technicians. Aims & Methods: To determine the acceptability and the accuracy of the novel C13 UBT At Home service. Patients on a UBT waiting list were contacted and invited to undergo the alternative virtual breath test. Willing participants were pre assessed over phone to explain the process. Technical aspects (internet, smart phone or laptop requirements), navigation through the video call system attendanywhere and routine clinical parameters including PPI and antibiotic use were discussed. Suitable patients collected a Home UBT kit (Patient information sheet, test documentation, pre and post collection tubes, collection straw, urea tablet and feedback questionnaire) from a drop off point up to a week prior to their scheduled appointment. The test was performed as standard by the patient at home with live interaction for all active steps. The 20 minute rest between samples 1 and 2 collection was offline which allowed technicians to do concurrent cases. Patients were requested to fill in a feedback questionnaire after the test and to return it with the samples to the drop off point within 48 hours for analysis. The questionnaire included 6 questions covering pre procedure, procedure and post procedure domains. In addition to patient satisfaction, positivity rate, sample error rate and activity numbers were compared between UBT at home and a standard UBT cohort which was reinstated in 2021. Results: 300 patients were enrolled, mean age 41 years (range 7-85), 177 female (59%). Overall response rate was 96% (288), 96% (285) rated the entire UBT at home process as either excellent or good. All other parameters except connection to the hospital video call system, which was subject to external factors were also rated excellent/good by >90%. Accuracy between UBT tests was similar: positivity rate 23% (69/299) versus 22% (74/326), sample error rate 0.33% (1/300) versus 0.6% (2/326) for the UBT at home and standard tests respectively. Currently 3 of every 4 UBT's is now virtual despite reduced restrictions. Conclusion: UBT at home is possible and acceptable to patients with equivalent accuracy to standard UBT and should be continued to improve patient choice and satisfaction.

ABSTRACT

The agricultural sector of the Kyrgyz Republic needs to address a number of priority measures caused by the global crisis. The COVID-19 pandemic affected the country's economic development, which was reflected in decrease in exports and a slowdown in economic growth. Joint cooperation with the states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEIJ) assumes interstate interaction to regulate the common agricultural market, develop international integration and cooperation, which helps to equalize economic risks, preserve and develop own production in the field of agriculture. Activation of economic and information relations processes in agriculture of the republic, development of innovation and investment activities, construction of new methods for approach to formation of the export potential of the industry, internal and external interaction of the state bodies of the country with the economic entities in agribusiness and development of market relations, is especially relevant. The paper presents the results of methodological study and offers practical recommendations for ensuring sustainable development of the agricultural sector, as well as ways to improve new legal, economic and management decisions. Based on building of system of sectoral and statistical indicators, an assessment of functioning was made for the flour-grinding industry, sector of crop and livestock products, direction of promoting the export potential and export opportunities of the agricultural industry was studied, the labor potential and its possibilities in development of food production and peasant (farm) households, the assessment of investments level in the economy and agricultural sector of the republic has been given. Recommendations have been proposed for the current assessment of agricultural production at the level of organizations and peasant (farm) households, in order to achieve better results in the field of economic and information relations based on public administration.
