ABSTRACT
There is growing concern about the availability of health care services for rural patients. This systematic literature review evaluates original research on health disparities among rural and urban populations with mental health (MH) conditions in North America. Using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reveiws and Meta-Analyses guidelines, we used four electronic databases (Pubmed, Cochrane, APA PsycInfo, Web of Science) and hand searches and included original research conducted in the United States or Canada before July 2021 that compared health outcomes of patients with any mental health disorder in rural versus nonrural areas. Both qualitative and quantitative data were extracted including demographics, mental health condition, health disparity measure, rural definition, health outcome measures/main findings, and delivery method. To evaluate study quality, the modified Newcastle-Ottawa Scale was used. Our initial search returned 491 studies, and 17 studies met final inclusion criteria. Mental health disorders included schizophrenia (4 studies), posttraumatic stress disorder (10), mood disorders (9), and anxiety disorders (6). Total sample size was 5,314,818 with the majority being military veterans. Six studies (35.2%) showed no significant rural-urban disparities, while 11 (64.7%) identified at least one. Of those, nine reported worse outcomes for rural patients. The most common disparities were diagnostic differences, increased suicide rates, and access problems. This review found mixed results regarding outcomes in rural patients with mental health disorders. Disparities were found regarding risk of suicide and access to services. Telehealth in addition to in-person outreach to these rural communities may be alternative to impact these outcomes. ABSTRACT
Background/Aims Long Rheumatology waiting lists in the UK were further affected by the COVID-19 pandemic;resulting in negative impacts upon the timeliness and efficiency of patient care. The use of Advanced Practitioners within Rheumatology care pathways has been shown to be safe and effective;they can support the Rheumatology workforce and expedite care where patients are appropriately triaged to them. As part of a service provision change in a NHS Trust, an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist (APP) post was funded with the intent to harness these benefits. Initial utilisation of the APP appointments within the Rheumatology provision was found to be low and could be improved. A Quality Improvement (QI) Project was initiated, with the aim to increase APP appointment utilisation to at least 85% over a period of four months, and for at least 75% of these appointments to contain patients who had been appropriately triaged. Methods The 'Model for Improvement' was chosen as the QI approach. The project was led by an APP. Firstly, a stakeholder analysis was performed to identify staff with influence and interest in the project. A root cause analysis found lack of awareness of triaging clinicians and challenges with booking processes as potential reasons for lowerthan- expected appointment utilisation. Change interventions were devised and tested over three Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) cycles. PDSA one developed communication with booking and triage staff to clarify these processes with them. PDSA two educated clinical staff about the APP role, triage criteria and the booking procedures confirmed in PDSA one. PDSA three focused upon sustaining change by reinforcement of the topics established in PDSA two among staff. Outcome measures used were the percentage of available APP appointments utilised per week, and the percentage of these which contained patients who were appropriately triaged. Results APP appointment utilisation increased from a mean of 22% pre-project to 61% during the change intervention period. Sixty-three patients were seen over the 17-week change intervention period;of which 86% had been appropriately triaged. Data showed that 70% of the patients directed to the APP were managed by them (24% discharged and 46% reviewed). Of the remaining patients, 13% were followed up by a Rheumatologist, 12% did not attend and 5% had an alternative outcome such as awaiting advice. Conclusion This QI project led to an improvement in Rheumatology care provision locally. Engagement with support staff, education of clinical staff and implementation of clear standard operating procedures improved the utilisation of the Rheumatology APP resource. Results suggest that the APP role was effective locally in managing appropriately triaged patients, without a negative effect on patient care or other services. Continuing to improve utilisation will support management of the Rheumatology waiting list and improve patient care.

PurposeOrganizational culture has been identified as an important factor in increased employee commitment. Particularly during a shortage of skilled workers, commitment is a meaningful indicator of higher loyalty and retention. However, limited research has studied the relationship between organizational culture and commitment from a global perspective. Most research focuses on specific aspects of culture and examines the aspects' effects on commitment separately. The author's objective is to identify influential organizational culture's dimensions and assess dimensions' relationship to commitment holistically.Design/methodology/approachFor this purpose, the author analyzed a data set with 241,648 participants from 9 industries in Germany. The survey captures individual attitudes toward certain aspects of organizational culture and assesses workers' commitment to their organizations.FindingsThe results of a linear regression show that all cultural dimensions considered, namely transformational leadership behavior, team cohesion, compensation, fairness and caring attitude, if well-developed, positively and significantly influence organizational commitment. Interestingly, team cohesion has the greatest effect on commitment, followed by transformational leadership behavior, compensation, caring attitude and fairness.Originality/valueThis paper aims to examine the relationship between organizational culture and commitment holistically, thereby revealing which aspects of corporate culture are particularly important for increasing workers' commitment.

Objective: to verify associations between sociodemographic variables and factors that facilitate and hinder the transition from face-to-face psychological care to remote mode in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: this is an analytical, quantitative, cross-sectional study. After approval by the Research Ethics Committee, data collection was performed by applying an online form consisting of 55 questions. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics techniques. Results: the intentional sampling consisted of a total of 385 Brazilian psychologists, mostly women (67.01%), young professionals with up to five years of graduation (44.16%) most of activities in the private clinic. It was found that training time between five and 10 years was associated with a greater perception of difficulties and that previous experience with remote care facilitated adaptation in the transition from one modality to another. Conclusion: considering that call center can be a powerful tool in the health scenario, it is suggested the inclusion of remote care issues in the research agenda and syllabus in the curricula of health training courses.

Providing face-to-face support to victims entails one the most intense stress- and trauma-laden exchanges of law enforcement tasks, which frequently triggers long lasting negative effects on police officer's psychological wellbeing. When exploring this phenomenon, police resilience is often interpreted as police officers' and organization's capacity to react and recover from negative experiences and impediments, and as such it may be perceived as both a trait and a trainable and promotable skill. Yet, in very recent times, police resilience has faced new or transformed challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as victims, citizens, and public institutions have encountered new needs and situations. Drawing from a unique qualitative, in-depth research with police officers that provide support to victims of gender-based and domestic violence, this paper analyzes officers' needs and challenges regarding their interactions with victims, colleagues, superiors, and other occupational demands, as they interplay into stress and trauma that may lead to burnout and compassion fatigue. Illustrated with the empirical findings of the case study of the Catalonia's Mossos d'Esquadra police corps, the paper explores how officers negotiate individuals' expectations, needs, and procedures signals towards potential challenges and threats to their psychological wellbeing with implications for police forces and other public and private institutions. The specific needs and demands of the participants' policing, related to support to gender-based and domestic violence, presents an in-depth analysis of how stress and trauma are understood and experienced from the police officers' perspectives.

Background: The proportion of COVID-19 vaccination in Africa countries remains lower than other low and middle-income countries around the world. This rate is much lower in sub-Saharan Africa especially Cameroon. The low rate among these countries is attributed to vaccine hesitancy, mainly due to misinformation about vaccine origin, efficacy, and safety and the use of local herbs. Methods: From January to April 2022, we gathered latest experiences and opinions on four vaccine hesitancy-related areas, namely policies, perceived low risk, religious factors and use of local herbs in Cameroon in particular and some selected African countries in general;from published information in the literature. Results and recommended local solutions: The report mentions that political influences, religious beliefs and low perceived risk exists, vaccine safety and effectiveness and consumption of local herbs do contribute to COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, collectively. Systematically monitoring the drivers of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, implementing tailored interventions promoting vaccine acceptance, and evaluating the impact of these interventions reduce vaccine hesitancy drastically.

Background & Aims: In early January 2020, a new corona virus called corona was identified as an infectious agent by the World Health Organization and caused a viral pneumonia outbreak, the first of which was reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019. The virus has so far infected most countries in the world and has become a global problem. By this time in December 2021, about 265 million people in the world have been infected with this virus and 5 million 270 thousand people have died from this disease. According to the World Health Organization, the incidence of this disease is still increasing and will become the third leading cause of death in the world by 2030. This disease has a special complexity and has multiple dimensions and consequences that have caused many problems in the field of health, social and economic as well as psychological for people. The emergence of this disease is now a public health crisis. According to this research, exposure to news and restrictions caused by this disease can lead to many mental health problems. In fact, one of the situations that puts a lot of stress on people during the outbreak of covid 19 disease is the inability to predict and uncertainty about the control and end of the disease. Mental health is defined as a harmonious and harmonious behavior with society, recognizing and accepting social realities, the power to adapt to them and meeting one's balanced needs and is an important factor for the health of society. Mindfulness-based interventions are considered as one of the third generation or third wave cognitive-behavioral therapies. Mindfulness is a form of meditation rooted in Eastern religious teachings and rituals, especially Buddhism. Segal has defined mindfulness as paying attention to specific and purposeful ways, in the present time, without judgment or prejudice. Linhan stressed for the first time the need to pay attention to mindfulness as one of the essential components of psychological therapy. Mindfulness requires the development of three components: judgment avoidance, purposeful awareness, and focus on the present moment. Although scholars have well-established the benefits of higher teacher-efficacy, the lack of literature regarding the sources and influences of these self-beliefs has led to an overly-reductionistic view of the construct. A teacher's sense of efficacy is a multifaceted entity which involves the interplay of various factors individuals leverage to formulate their judgement of their abilities. These influencers include a combination of internal elements such as an individual's previous experiences or social interactions, and external elements such as the environmental context or surroundings. The aim of this study was to explore the intricacies of the teacher-efficacy development process as situated during a crisis event. Crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, are ominous in that they tend to be volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA). With the crisis in mind, this study involved an ecological examination of the teacher efficacy construct concerning a group of professional military education personnel during the transition to emergency remote teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal of this study was to illuminate patterns and themes from within the data by comparing (1) the design context, principles, and design team choices to promote efficacy development during the pandemic with (2) how the course graduates perceived their efficacy.The exploratory nature of this single case qualitative study involved a constant comparative analysis of semi-structured interview protocols with seven participants, archived documents of curriculum artifacts and course materials, and analytic memos. The participants consisted of three course design team members, who planned and implemented the professional development (PD) course, and four military faculty course graduates, who completed the PD and taught their first virtual teaching session. The result of using an inductive analytical approach revealed three interconnected themes that facilitated the efficacy-building process. The consistency in the data exposed that the degree to which the participants perceived authenticity in the curriculum, their ability to harness collaborative engagement among colleagues and faculty, and their opportunity to source prior exposures to handling disruptions and change intertwined to influence the developmental effort. The implications of this study counter the dominant narrative in the literature that teacher-efficacy is a linear, simplistic process. Instead, scholars and practitioners might approach efficacy-building using a collection of biological, psychological, and social influencers. Purpose: This study aims to construct a scale for measuring the spa hotel experiencescape in wellness tourism, clarify the mechanism through which wellness tourism experiencescape influences revisit intention and investigate the mediation roles of authenticity, memorability and organizational identification. Design/methodology/approach: This study conducted content analysis of interviews, online reviews and relevant articles and used the concept of experiencescape to interpret spa hotels' experiential environment. The stimulus-organism-response (SOR) model was used as the basis for introducing authenticity, memorability, organizational identification and revisit intention to investigate how wellness tourism experiencescape affects tourists' behavior. In total, 488 valid questionnaires were collected at Taiwanese spa hotel clusters. Findings: Four factors of spa hotel experiencescape were identified: health promotion treats, mental learning, unique travel experience and healthy diet. Existential authenticity-memorability and existential authenticity-organizational identification exerted full positive mediation effects in the relationship between wellness tourism experiencescape and revisit intention. Practical implications: This study provides guidance on experience design for spa hotels. It promotes the consideration of existential authenticity in wellness tourism design. Originality/value: The COVID-19 pandemic has raised awareness of wellness, drastically increasing the potential of the wellness tourism market. This study investigated the construction of wellness tourism experiencescape and its influence, and the findings can facilitate post-pandemic restoration of the wellness tourism industry. On the basis of SOR model, a chain mediation model was proposed to reveal the influence of wellness tourism experiencescape on revisit intention. Existential authenticity was discovered to play a crucial role in the relationship between wellness tourism experiencescape and revisit intention, which suggests that existential authenticity should be considered during service design and in marketing strategies for wellness tourism.

The Covid-19 pandemic is having a great impact on people's mental health all over the world. Adolescents have been facing several potential stressors. The aim of this study was to explore how Portuguese adolescents were perceiving the Covid-19 outbreak and the relationship between the perceived impact of the pandemic and mental health. Participants were 130 adolescents (97 girls) who completed online questionnaires about the Covid-19 pandemic and the DASS-21. Around 73% of the adolescents agreed that the Covid-19 pandemic affected their lives and 45% felt emotionally affected. Feeling uncomfortable around family during quarantine was correlated with depression (r = .39), anxiety (r = .44), and stress symptoms (r = .37), and feeling capable to deal with the pandemic was negatively correlated with psychopathological symptoms. Girls seemed to be more emotionally affected. Results revealed the negative effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on Portuguese adolescents' mental health. ABSTRACT
The COVID-19 crisis created stress, anxiety, and depression in early childhood educators, with particular adverse effects on minority and marginalized populations. The use of reflective supervision (RS) has helped childhood education (ECE) programs respond to the ill effects of the pandemic. Thus, it is important to explore the specific mechanisms of how RS supports ECE workers in such times of stress. This phenomenological case study was conducted at Educare DC, an ECE program that serves a low-income, predominantly African American population in Ward 7 of Washington, DC. It aimed to examine the lived experiences of supervisors who used RS during the early months of the pandemic to support staff during this period of heightened stress. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 supervisors to develop an understanding of their experiences of providing and receiving RS. The findings led to the creation of a model of workplace reflective supervision in early childhood education. They show that the COVID-19 pandemic changed the needs of Educare DC staff and as a result, RS evolved to address these needs. Reflective supervision relies on a strong supervisory alliance, and the data illustrate that culture supports relationship building, which then promotes trust and the creation of a safe space in RS. Trust and a safe space create an environment of psychological safety, supervisor self-efficacy, and agency for supervisor and supervisee. This culture of trust then leads to the workplace providing intangible rewards for staff, like an inclusive and culturally accepting work environment, which has been shown to lead to increased productivity and job satisfaction. These rewards likely helped Educare DC staff feel supported during the pandemic. The data represent the transformative power of RS and how it can be adapted to meet the needs of ECE programs in crisis. It also provides a look at how one ECE program was able to support their staff during the pandemic, which can help other similar programs formulate their own support plans. Background: 5-20% of people living with HIV (PLWH) are co-infected with Hepatitis B (HBV) and coinfection is associated with an increased risk of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), incidence of which is 5 to 6 times higher. COVID-19 led to a lapse in surveillance of this population, warranting a reassessment. Method(s): BHIVA and EACS guidelines were combined to create a standard to audit against. All people under the care of the HIV team with co-infection were included, and analysed for the prior six months. Local ethics approval was granted. The results were then presented to clinicians, and local guidelines created to reflect the most recent research on co-infection which were shared with the department. A re-audit was then conducted against the modified guidelines. Result(s): 42 people were living with co-infection of HBV and HIV, with a 50:50 gender split;32 were of Black African ethnicity (76%). The median age was 50.5. Nobody had a HBV resistance profile done at baseline. 3 people did not have suppressed HIV viral load (VL), and 8 people did not have a suppressed HBV VL. In the previous 6 months only 26 (62%) had had a HBV VL, 20 (48%) had had an alfa-fetoprotein (AFP) check, and 21 (36%) had had an ultrasound liver. An US had been requested in 21 (50%) of patients. 100% were on a tenofovir-containing drug regimen. Following presentation and rewriting of guidelines, performance of investigations improved. An US had been requested in 26 (62%) cases although only performed in 16 (38%) and an AFP had been measured in 25 (60%). Vaccination of partners had also improved. Conclusion(s): The provision of care of those with coinfection was significantly impacted by the COVID pandemic, but reinforcement of information, and re-issuing of guidelines improved patient care. Attendance of appointments for blood tests and scans remains a major challenge for improving patient care. Literature aimed at our local population to reinforce the importance of HCC screening is being developed.

Due to various policies measures to curtail the virus, one of which was lockdown, the occurrence of COVID-19 had a negative impact on the nation's economy, especially the rural smallholder farmers. The study looked into how Covid-19 lockdowns affected Nigerian vegetable production. Descriptive statistics, budgetary approaches, multiple regression analysis, and a Likert scale were all used for the analysis. The findings show that most of vegetable growers in the research region were married women (88.33%). About 70% of respondents have completed at least their primary education. The multiple regression analysis results disclosed that number of extensions contact, farm size, market access and transportation cost were significantly affected the level of vegetable production with positive sign while household size had a negative effect on the vegetable production. The findings also showed that after the COVID-19 lockdown, vegetable production was extremely profitable in the study area, with an average gross margin of 82,836.04 that was statistically higher than the 60,709.97 gross margin generated from vegetable production during COVID-19 and the 71,234.91 gross margin generated prior to COVID-19. The constraints faced by vegetable farmers during the covid - 19 restrictions include: high cost of transportation, price fluctuation, and high cost of input, perishability of the produce and lack of improved seeds. It was concluded that Covid 19 pandemic has greater effect on vegetable production in the study areas.

Between January 2019 and December 2022, a student (named L.A.) doing a BTS (a senior technologist's certificate) in Management was treated using a trimodal system of care by the BAPU of the Claude Bernard Center. How was this original system organized, and how did changes related to the lockdown of March-May 2020 allow for progress in the proposed treatment? The consulting psychologist, Ms. Beaudre ', received the initial request: L.A. had multiple difficulties (learning, language, social, psychic, somatic, etc.). Rapid guidance was recommended in an individual space dedicated to educational psychology, while continuing with consultations. In the educational psychology space, L.A. met with Mr. Sanchez and first explained to him her concerns about her difficulties with the French language, her rejection of her mother tongue and her accent. Her learning difficulties made her fear she would fail the BTS. L.A. had low self-esteem. At the start of the lockdown of March-May 2020, the educational psychological support was done at a distance (by telephone), and this did not help to reduce L.A.'s anxiety. Shortly before the start of the lockdown, L.A. had met with Ms. Dziwulski, psychologistpsychotherapist, as part of a therapeutic relaxation session. The question of the physical isolation was an overwhelming concern. The isolation imposed by COVID-19 posed a serious problem for the continued use of this trimodal system of care: how to continue working with L.A.? Within the parameters of this trimodal care, an attempt was made to adapt the follow-up for L.A. around the question of the verbal contact via telephone and the physical presence (distant or real), in a way which would allow this young woman to question/examine the orders given by her inner voice that she called her "policeman". The temporary suspension of in person contact, as well as work on her self-image and imagination, the exclusivity of her inner voice and then the application of the telephone voice/real physical presence at the BAPU leading to the questioning of the role of the body in her difficulties, allowed L.A to exist differently. The establishment of and the modifications made to this system of care ultimately functioned as a mediation, which provided L.A. the possibility of acquiring another voice, another space in which to think.

Background: Covid-19 has been declared a global pandemic by WHO. Health Care Workers (HCWs) being the front-line warriors have been most exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Vaccine hesitancy against Covid-19 has been seen among HCWs. The main aim of the research was to find the hesitancy rates of vaccine among HCWs and the pulling and pushing factors to get vaccinated. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on HCWs. Questionnaires on Google forms were sent to all participants through their WhatsApp number and data was analysed through SPSS version 23.0. Results: Out of 81 HCWs selected, 51.9% (n=42) were initially hesitant when the vaccine was first introduced. The main pulling factor initially to get vaccinated was to shield loved ones, 38.75% (n=31) and 46.2% (n=37) of them received a booster dose of vaccine mainly due to employment requirements. Out of the total, 19.75% (n=16) are still hesitant even after vaccination and the most common pushing factors were fear of the side effects and inadequately tested vaccines. Conclusion: Though the majority of the HCWs got vaccinated, vaccine hesitancy is still present among the HCWs and the major reason is uncertainty about the side effects it could cause in the long term.
ABSTRACT
This article describes experiences of improving complementary feeding practices using a systems approach with particular focus on health systems strengthening. Achievements included: the development of national guidelines for optimum complementary feeding for children 6-23 months of age, inclusion of a specific indicator for complementary feeding in the new National Food and Nutrition Strategy, updated training packages to improve health worker counselling skills and strengthened social behaviour change communication activities. A systems approach requires strong coordination between all partners across sectors to ensure communities benefit from the synergistic effects of complementary interventions, while system strengthening was noted to improve the resilience of the Ministry of Health and Population to withstand the shocks of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent Ukraine crisis.

BackgroundCreutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD) is a rare, fatal neurodegenerative disorder, with few months as a usual duration from onset to death.Case presentationIn this case report, a patient of Sporadic CJD (sCJD) who presented one month after severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. The diagnosis of this case was established after confirming findings from clinical, neurophysiology, radiological, and laboratory features of this disease.ConclusionPutting in mind all the updated data on the pathogenesis of CJD and the immune responses to SARS-CoV-2, we can suggest that COVID-19 can lead to accelerated pathogenesis and exaggerated manifestations of this fatal neurodegenerative disease.

Relevance: The global consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic emphasize today the importance of the concept of "One Health" for the health system, which provides for the use of a coordinated, joint, interdisciplinary and intersectoral approach to eliminate potential or existing risks arising at the interface of the "environment-animal-human-ecosystem". The aim of the work is to study the experience of countries in implementing the concept of "One Health". Search strategy: comparative analysis of publications on the research topic, sources indexed in the databases of the electronic library e-Library, Google Academy, Pubmed, Web of Science, Scopus. 26 countries from the European Union, South America and Africa were subject to analysis. The criteria defined are: institutional framework;mechanisms of intersectoral interaction and programs/tools for the implementation of the concept of "One Health". Results: The literature review provides a comparative analysis of the experience of implementing the concept of "One Health" in 26 countries. Realizing the importance of "One Health" in the general concept of public safety, countries have launched an active policy to promote it in the last decade. Characteristic features of country policies are the intersectoral approach with appropriate support from the government of the country, the activity of all participants in promoting the initiative and their investment.

The usage of mobile technology had been a burning issue in the nation with the prevalence of COVID-19 in society. The research problem was centered on the perception and acceptance of mobile technology in the education industry as it relates to students and teachers. It also ascertained the student achievement, motivation, and willingness to use mobile devices in a high school setting of students in grades ninth through twelfth. The development of mobile technology will massively impact the education industry making accessibility, and knowledge management simple. The purpose of the study was to add to the body of knowledge using a qualitative process of adoption of mobile technology by High School Students, assessing their self-efficacy, motivation, and willingness to utilize technology. The conceptual framework involved the Frame Model, in which teachers' and students' engagement and management of change, along with potential resistance to change may exist. The model considers a device's usability and the social and learner aspects of the learning. The research method for this study was qualitative in nature from a phenomenological perspective and involved 11 participants as determined by previous research as a viable population for consideration. The key results and findings clearly revealed that more than 90% showed that the education system should encourage transitioning to technology usage. Student engagement, willingness, motivation, and confidence were boosted with the use of technology. The implication is that the potential impact for positive social change at the personal, family, and organizational levels will yield satisfaction and active participation or engagement of students in the class, home, and society at large. ABSTRACT
We propose that COVID-related stress undermines felt authenticity, but also triggers nostalgia. In turn, nostalgia conduces to felt authenticity, thereby counteracting the deleterious impact of COVID-related stress. We tested this regulatory model of nostalgia in two studies. Study 1 was an online cross-sectional study during the pandemic, in which we assessed COVID-related stress, nostalgia, and authenticity. In Study 2, we followed a group of working adults in a daily diary study across five workdays. We assessed COVID-related stress each morning, organizational nostalgia at midday, and authenticity at the end of the workday. The results of both studies were consistent with the palliative role of nostalgia in support of the regulatory model.
