Ifast and RT-Lamp: AN approach for on-chip detection of sars-cov-2 RNA for resource-limited settings

ABSTRACT
We report on-chip isolation of genomic Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-related Coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV-2) RNA via Immiscible Filtration Assisted by Surface Tension (IFAST). Combined with colorimetric Reverse Transcription Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification (RT-LAMP), the approach obtained a sensitivity of 810 copies mL-1 of SARS-CoV-2 genomic RNA. The integration of on-chip RT-LAMP with IFAST RNA extraction has the potential to be a simple platform for Covid-19 diagnostics in resource-poor settings. © 2020 CBMS-0001
