ABSTRACT

The article presents article of the periodical from October 1957, which recalls experiences as a nursing student in New York City during the 1918 influenza pandemic. Topics discussed include similarity between 1918 influenza pandemic and COVID-19 pandemic like over crowded units and staff shortages;management of women's influenza unit through 12-hour night shifts;and emotional impact of working under pandemic situation.
