Coping mechanism of employee with anxiety levels in theCOVID-19 pandemicin Yogyakarta

ABSTRACT

Background:

Coronavirus Disease, 2019, or what we call (COVID-19), is an infectious disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). In Indonesia, the latest data obtained in June 2020 were 28.818 positive people, 8.892 patients recovered, and 1.721 patients were declared dead. The number of Coronavirus cases is caused by public disobedience to government protocols. This study aimed to determine the employees coping mechanism withemployee'sanxiety level in the Covid-19 pandemic in Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Method:

This study used a non-experimental research type with a correlational description design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with a total of 50 respondents. Hypothesis testing using the Kendall tau method.

Results:

The results of this study showed that the correlation value is 0.673 and at sig is 0,000 (0,000 <0,05), which means that Ha is accepted (Hypothesis is accepted) Ho is rejected (Hypothesis is rejected).

Conclusion:

There is a significant correlation between coping mechanisms and the level of employee anxiety about Covid-19 in Sleman Region, Special District Yogyakarta, Indonesia
