Tourism before and after COVID-19. (Le tourisme avant et apres la COVID-19.) [French]

ABSTRACT

This special issue offers a diversity of perspectives with regard to tourism development before and after COVID-19. Some of these perspectives include defining a new project of civilization while questioning the place of tourism in post-COVID society;postulating that the COVID-19 disaster may ultimately be the long-awaited "miracle" for a societal paradigm shift;questioning the precarious working conditions that characterize the tourism industry;transforming of the coastal tourism paradigm to take the path of ecological and sustainable tourism;and explaining the measures deployed by the Airbnb platform to adjust to the health crisis. Furthermore, this special issue aims to investigate an extraordinary global health crisis by its magnitude and the speed with which it has literally "disoriented" almost all countries, especially in the tourism sector.
