ABSTRACT
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the country's economies along with the social lives of people adversely. Pandemic data show that this effect will continue for a while. For this reason, countries have focused on measures to reduce the effects of the pandemic on their economies. It has been seen that most of the measures taken for banks in Turkey as the same as in the world. Because banks constitute the bulk of the financial system. This study is aimed to evaluate the general performances of participation banks, which have an important area in Turkey as well as in many Islamic countries in recent years, during the pandemic period. The Multi-Criteria Decision Making method MARCOS has been used in the study. Criteria which are funds collected, funds allocated, non-performing loans, total assets, equity, net profit, number of personnel, and number of branches have been selected as variables to use in the MARCOS method. Also, the criteria have been weighted by the CRITIC method. As a result, “Vakıf Katılım Bankası A.Ş." has shown the best performance in both periods. The criterion that has an significant for evaluating the performance of participation banks in the pre-pandemic period has non-performing loans. During the pandemic period, it has been observed that the net profit and nonperforming loans criteria have a significant priority in the general performance evaluation.
