Typical situations for transmission of SARS-CoV-2 to hospital personnel

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 infections of employees, especially in the COVID area, were a major problem in hospitals, most of all in autumn 2020. The experience of 14 hospitals in the Ruhr area is reported. The following could be identified as important transmission situations Badly or incorrectly fitting FFP2 masks, no compliance with distance and mask rules in social rooms and smoking areas, shared car journeys without a mask, not fitting masks for bearded people and a lack of compliance with the COVID hygiene rules among trainees. © 2021 mhp-Verlag GmbH.
