ABSTRACT
Online learning has become a popular mode of instruction at all levels of education and in different areas of knowledge in the last two years. Researchers believe that there is a paradigm shift in different domains of blended learning ranging from pedagogy to teacher roles. The objective of this research is to analyze the results of the proficiency test in the conduction of the English language teaching-learning process in the face-to-face and in the hybrid modality of synchronous and asynchronous distance classes in the CTT of the Andes. The study is based on a qualitative-quantitative analysis design to organize the reflection and comparison of figures and inferences, both for the face-to-face modality and for the hybrid modality of the results obtained in the learning of English by students in different courses. Among the results found, it was possible to confirm that, although students miss out on pair work, peer interaction and face-to-face role-playing, which are essential for language learning, the possibilities offered by the Internet allow for authentic interaction outside the classroom. It is incumbent upon teachers to follow research on new pedagogies and developments in relation to technology and online learning.
