ABSTRACT
COVID-19 is associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome, caused by corona-virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, is a leading reason for unknown and unusual clinical manifestations that are still challenging to manage. One of the most common of them is post-COVID-19 (long COVID, post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2, chronic COVID) syndrome that is present in 10-20% of SARS-CoV-2 patients, beyond 12 weeks from the diagnosis of the infection. Although many investigations have been started, its early detection remains difficult and limits its timely therapeutic approach. Physical activity is а confirmed modulator of the clinical manifestations and prognosis in many chronic diseases. This review aims to summarize data, regarding рost-COVID-19 syndrome, as well as, to explain that regular physical activity could reduce many of the symptoms and long-term effects of COVID-19 infection. © 2022, Central Medical Library Medical University – Sofia.
