Telemental Health Play Therapy

ABSTRACT

This chapter intends to introduce the reader to the pre, peri, and post eras of teleservices. There is a rich and surprising history of teleservices, beginning with telemedicine in the early 1900s, which informs us a bit about how we have arrived in an amazing time in history the ability for continuity of care despite a global pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic era of telemental health services is discussed to review the process of this rapid adoption of providing services digitally, the realizations many have experienced, and the pros and cons of such provisions.
