ABSTRACT

The author discusses how events like the COVID-19 pandemic can intervene and cause patients to miss or skip yearly cancer screenings, thus losing an opportunity to detect an abnormality early. Topics covered include decrease in breast and cervical cancer screenings between 2018 and 2020, screening volumes among minorities, and how misdiagnosis can alter treatment.
