PERCEPTION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SPORTS ORGANIZATION STUDENTS ABOUT ONLINE EDUCATION IN TIMES OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC.

ABSTRACT

The activities of the world changed with the emergence of the COVID 19 pandemic, the closure of schools, universities affected the development of the education of millions of students, causing education to move to the online modality to continue with educational training. This research article aims to identify the teaching model applied online and to know the perception and assessment that students have of the online modality. The research corresponds to the descriptive type, a 25-item survey was applied to students of the Facultad de Organización Deportiva (FOD), (n = 321). The results show that students use smartphones to connect to classes from home. The online classes they have received have been mainly through presentations with synchronous interaction and communication through forums. The assessment that students have of online education is that they invest more dedication in their studies, but it is not reflected in their academic performance even though they have developed self-learning and teachers adapt to their personal needs. In conclusion, it is considered that the faculty and teachers must implement student-centered strategies that are contextualized to the online modality, that are creative, innovative so that learning is achieved, and critical thinking is developed. El cierre de escuelas y universidades afectó el desarrollo de la educación de millones de estudiantes, originando que la educación se trasladara a la modalidad en línea para continuar con la formación educativa. Este trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo identificar el modelo de enseñanza aplicado en línea, y conocer la percepción y valoración de los estudiantes frente a la modalidad en línea. La investigación corresponde al tipo descriptivo y se aplicó una encuesta de 25 ítems a estudiantes de la Facultad de Organización Deportiva (FOD), de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (n = 321). Los resultados muestran que los estudiantes utilizan smartphones para conectarse a las clases, desde sus casas. Las clases en línea recibidas han sido principalmente a través de presentaciones con interacción sincrónica y comunicación por medio de foros. La valoración de los estudiantes sobre la educación en línea es que invierten mayor dedicación a sus estudios, pero esto no se refleja en su rendimiento académico, a pesar de que han desarrollo el autoaprendizaje y los docentes se adaptan a sus necesidades personales. En conclusión, se considera que la Facultad y los docentes deben implementar estrategias centradas en el estudiante, contextualizadas a la modalidad en línea, creativas e innovadoras, para lograr aprendizajes y que el alumno desarrolle el pensamiento crítico.
